Top Champions League Matches To Distract You From Whatever You Should Probably Be Doing

With the conclusion of the final international break before the 2022 World Cup, it’s time to get back to everyone’s favorite mid-week soccer tournament.

UEFA Champions League action is returning to our precious televisions today, with enough middle-of-the-afternoon action to help you procrastinate all day long.

Here are the top matches to watch this week instead of working, studying, or generally being responsible.

All games are on Paramount+.

Ajax vs. Napoli

When: Tuesday, Noon PST

Scouting Report: This should be a fun one. Napoli is beating everyone they come across right now, with midfielder Khvicha Kvaratskhelia looking like a Georgian Messi. The hugely-talented Ajax have their backs against the wall in Group A after losing to Liverpool – expect a battle to the finish.

Prediction: 3-2, Napoli

Inter Milan vs. Barcelona

When: Tuesday, Noon PST

Scouting Report: Barcelona is on top of their domestic league this week despite losing multiple starters to injury last month. Robert Lewandowski is keeping the Catalonian Kings afloat, but they need to beat Inter to make it to the group stages. Inter Milan is always a challenge, though less so this season compared to others. They’ve been up and down, but Inter still has a bite.

Prediction: 4-2, Barcelona

Chelsea vs. AC Milan

When: Wednesday, Noon PST

Scouting Report: Aubameyang vs. Leão, Pulisic vs. Dest – there are too many good storylines here to miss. Chelsea is at the bottom of Group E, while AC resides at the top. Milan is red hot at the moment, winning three of their last four matches, while Chelsea is just heating back up. Watch for Chelsea to pull the upset at home.

Prediction: 2-1, Chelsea

Benfica vs. PSG

When: Wednesday, Noon PST

Scouting Report: PSG may have Messi, Neymar, and Mbappe, but Benfica is hot off a win over Juventus, firing on all cylinders. PSG’s three-headed monster will be difficult for anyone to stop, but Benfica has a stout defense, only allowing five goals in the last 10 games. With it being a home game for the Portuguese, PSG will have to earn every point they get in Lisbon.

Prediction: 1-1
