Vini Scoops the Chip While Antony Nails His Debut: Top 5 Goals From This Past Weekend

Another exciting weekend in top-flight European action means yet another exciting list of top-shelf golazos.

Every week, The US Guide is committed to sharing the best goals from the biggest European clubs, from Manchester United to Real Madrid.

This past weekend saw a full spectrum of jaw-dropping goals from all of Europe’s top five leagues, making it more difficult than ever to choose only five.

From the Premier League to Serie A, here are the top five goals from the past weekend of football action.

5 – Rafael Leão – AC Milan

It only took one hour for last year’s Serie A MVP to net two goals against AC Milan’s biggest rival, Inter. The second golazo begins with a clever touch from Giroud, but the rest is all Leão. After unexpectedly dismantling the Inter Milan defense, the Portuguese striker drills the fadeaway in the corner. Ciao!

4 – Robert Lewandowski – Barcelona

The service, the control, the explosive, cobra-like strike… All is going according to plan in Catalonia. That entire play was nothing just new summer transfers Jules Kounde and Robert Lewandowski reminding the entire league of what they can do at any moment – strike, lethally and often.

3 – Antony – Manchester United

The ref saves the play early by allowing the clear foul on Fernandes to play on. Rashford, still waiting to score his doublet, finds a chippy assist for Antony, who earns his $100 million transfer with a deadly left-footed strike. The finish is perfect, and just look at it what it means.

2 – Mbappe – PSG

As always, the real story here is Messi, who now has more assists than anyone in top-flight European football. Mbappe crushes a very difficult shot into the top of the net at an angle that looked impossible from the camera angle. Messi’s timing is perfect, but Mbappe makes the goal whole so silky smooth. It may not mean as much as the Antony goal, but it is undeniably a beaut.

1 – Vinicius Jr – Real Madrid

Vini gave Madrid the go-ahead goal in LaLiga’s battle Real between two undefeateds – Real Betis and Real Madrid. Los Blancos came out on top 2-1, though Betis looked primed for a goal before Vini jabbed them on the counter. Real Madrid has been unbeatable over the past three months, thanks in part to the constant threat of Benzema and Vini Jr.
