While many USMNT fans’ eyes are on Leeds United and Chelsea in the Premier League, US star Yunus Musah is making a name for himself in LaLiga.
Musah, still a teenager at 19, has thrived in his new starting position for the Bats, right central midfield.
The teen’s play has USMNT fans thrilled as Musah sets records in one of Europe’s top leagues, Spain’s LaLiga.
Musah has started four of four games for the 10th place Spanish side, who just added Edinson Cavani to their attack.
ESPN’s Samuel Marsden says Musah is one of three young Valencia stars giving Los Che fans hope for the future.
“Yunus Musah having himself a season so far, lovely assist for Valencia’s fifth. So much youth in that Valencia midfield: Musah & Ilaix still 19, Nico (who scored tonight) is 20 and Hugo Guillamon & Andre Almeida the veterans at 22.”
Musah has played stellar in his last two outings, netting a stunner of a disallowed goal in a 1-0 loss to Atletico Madrid last week.
Then, over the weekend, Musah provided two assists against Getafe (the other, other, other Madrid team), including this beauty for a chip to set up Valencia’s second goal.
Musah has been steadily improving his status in LaLiga over the last two seasons. Now that he’s a regular starter, the USMNT’s midfield looks more dangerous than ever, ready to shock the globe at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
