Champions League Is Back! Top Group Stage Matches To Interrupt Your Work Day

The Champions League is back (baby!), with two matches kicking off the highly anticipated group stages on Tuesday morning.

The Champions League is arguably the most fun European league for fans, pitting only top table teams against one another.

Unfortunately for American fans, most Champions League games come smack dab in the middle of the US workday.

Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons can be tough to keep open, but if you have Paramount+, you can stream all the games directly from your phone, tablet, or whatever.

So, take a break this week to celebrate the Champions League kick-off with these top matches for avoiding work.

RB Salzburg-AC Milan

When: Tuesday, Noon PST

Scouting Report: Watch this game on your phone and the other one on a screen. Salzburg-Milan should be fun with RB always bringing a high-flying attack and AC hot off a win in the Milan derby. Expect/hope to see USMNT defender Sergiño Dest make his debut for Milan. Both teams can find the back of the net, so pop the popcorn.

Prediction: 3-2, AC Milan

PSG-Juventus

When: Tuesday, Noon PST

Scouting Report: Undoubtedly the only match to feature Messi, Neymar, Mbappe, and Weston McKennie, this one has plenty for fans to keep an eye on. PSG is built for the Champions League, while Juventus hasn’t looked particularly strong in Europe in years. PSG should be able to handle the Italian giants, but if they can’t… The press will have a field day.

Prediction: 3-1, PSG

Inter Milan-Bayern Munich

When: Wednesday, Noon PST

Scouting Report: In a clash of the titans, Inter Milan and Bayern Munich both enter the games in varying states of disappointment (Milan just lost to their rival while Munich hasn’t lost at all – but they aren’t winning, either.) Both teams can score, but we suspect Bayern can score more.

Prediction: 4-2, Bayern

Napoli-Liverpool

When: Wednesday, Noon PST

Scouting Report: While Liverpool has ridden the full gambit of Premier League emotions, Napoli is solidly on top of Serie A after five games. For Liverpool, it may be a matter of which team shows up. Napoli has been the more consistent of the two teams this year, though they haven’t faced a challenge like a focused Liverpool.

Prediction: 2-1, Liverpool
