USMNT Midfielder Weston McKennie’s Juventus Return Delayed by Injury

USMNT star Weston McKennie is reportedly out for the next 3-4 weeks and will miss the start of Juventus’s Serie A campaign.

After missing Juventus’s 2-0 thumping at the bandaged hand of Benzema’s Real Madrid, USMNT and Juve fans alike worried for McKennie’s health after reports surfaced claiming a separated shoulder kept McKennie from playing in the friendly, held in the Rose Bowl.

(Check out the video below, the Purp kits are pretty fresh.)

Those reports have seemingly been confirmed, with McKennie resting up till either the last week of August or the first week of September.

If the USMNT sensation comes back in three weeks, he’ll hop right into the action: Juventus takes on a revitalized Roma on August 27, Spezia on August 31, and Fiorentina on September 3rd.

McKennie’s injury is a blow to Juve fans, in particular, after the knee injury to prodigal playmaker Paul Pogba last month.

McKennie has become a staple in the midfield for the Italian giants, winning the Coppa Italia twice and the Suppercoppa Italiana once with the black and white. McKennie played in 29 matches, scoring four goals across all competitions, for Juventus last season.
