Fresh off Euro 2022 Victory, Lady Lionesses Likely To Play USWNT in October

The USWNT will probably have their hands full in October as they take on the reigning European champions, Chloe Kelly’s electrifying England.

The match is conditional upon the Lionesses maintaining a top spot in their 2023 World Cup qualifying group, which they currently lead by five points.

So long as England can avoid two losses in a row against Austria and Luxembourg, England should be good to go. After their thrilling overtime victory against Germany in the 2022 Euros, there seems little doubt England is up to the task.

If England qualifies, they will meet the reigning World Cup Champions in Wembley Stadium, the site of their now famous late victory over Germany, who was previously undefeated in European Finals, in front of a record-setting 87,192 fans.

The USWNT has not played in Wembley since the 2012 Olympics gold medal match against Japan, a 2-1 victory for the Stars and Stripes.

The match should generate plenty of interest as a potential preview of the 2023 Women’s World Cup final in Australia.
