WATCH: American Midfielder Weston McKennie Creating Chances As Juventus Ties Napoli

USMNT stand-out Weston McKennie is making waves in Serie A even when he can’t find the back of the net.

Yesterday’s Serie A slugfest between fifth-place Juventus and third-place Napoli may have ended in a 1-1 draw, but that’s not for lack of effort on McKennie’s part.

The flashy midfielder started early, barely missing a header off a corner in the fifth minute.

Napoli striker made Juventus pay for the miss in the 23rd minute, putting Napoli up 1-0.

Then, half an hour later, McKennie created another chance that led to Federico Chiesa’s game-tying strike.

Juan Cuadrado’s ball to a streaking McKennie could have gone out for a goal kick or corner if the American hadn’t stayed on it and picked out Álvaro Morata from the baseline, who couldn’t make the connection. Luckily for Juve, the ball landed right at a goalscorer’s feet.

On the rebound of another Chiesa strike a few minutes later, McKennie took a shot of his own.

McKennie stayed busy for 90+ minutes, but the game still ended in a tie.
